Bonneygrove & Millbrook Primary Federation
Thank you for your interest in applying for a place at Bonneygrove Primary School or Millbrook Primary School.
Both schools are part of the Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation and admissions are managed by Hertfordshire County Council in line with the local authority’s coordinated admissions process.
Applying for a Reception Place - September 2027
If your child is due to start school in Reception (age 4–5), you must apply through Hertfordshire County Council.
Parents can apply for up to four schools, ranking them in order of preference.

Applications open on 2nd November 2026.
Applications close on 15th January 2027.
National Allocation Day is 16th April 2027, when you will receive confirmation of your child’s school place.
We have the following tour dates available for parents/carers to look around our school and meet Mr Hamilton, Executive Headteacher. Please call the school office on 01992 307900 to book onto one of these tours.

In-Year Applications (Changing Schools)
If you are moving into the area or would like your child to join Bonneygrove Primary School or Millbrook Primary School during the school year, you must submit an in-year application through Hertfordshire County Council.
We strongly encourage parents to contact the school office directly to arrange a visit before applying.

Admission Rules and Oversubscription Criteria
Places at Bonneygrove Primary School and Millbrook Primary School are allocated according to Hertfordshire County Council’s published admission rules.

If a school receives more applications than places available, places are allocated according to the published oversubscription criteria.
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that names Bonneygrove Primary School or Millbrook Primary School, their place will be allocated through a separate statutory process.

Applying for a Nursery place at Bonneygrove Primary School
We admit children into our Nursery the term after their 3rd birthday, Monday to Friday term time only.
We offer 15 hour funding - available to all families
8.30 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. (September starters) / 12.30 p.m. - 3.30 p.m. (January and Easter starters)
30 hour funding 8.30 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. - available to eligible working parents.
