The School Day at Bonneygrove Primary School

At Bonneygrove Primary School, we want every child to have a calm, positive and punctual start to the school day. Regular attendance and arriving on time help children settle quickly, maximise learning time and make the most of every opportunity available to them.

Arriving at School

School gates open at 8.30am.

Children should make their way to their classroom ready for the start of the school day.

Classroom doors close at 8.50am. Children arriving after 8.50am are considered late and must report to the School Reception, where they will be signed in before going to class.

We ask parents and carers to ensure children arrive with enough time to enter school, organise their belongings and be ready to learn.

Break and Lunchtime Arrangements

Our break and lunchtime arrangements vary according to children's age and phase so that we can manage the school site effectively and provide appropriate provision for all pupils.

Morning breaks take place between 10.00am and 10.30am, depending on the child's year group and phase.

Lunchtimes operate between 11.30am and 1.15pm, again depending on the child's age and phase.

Children have appropriate opportunities during the school day to play, socialise, eat, drink and prepare for their next period of learning.

End of the School Day

The school day finishes at 3.15pm.

Parents and carers should ensure that appropriate collection arrangements are in place. Please inform the School Office if there is an unexpected change to the person collecting your child.

Wraparound Care – Kool Kidz

We recognise that many families need childcare beyond the normal school day. Bonneygrove operates its own Kool Kidz Breakfast and After School Club.

Breakfast Club is available from 7.30am until the start of the school day. Children attending Breakfast Club are taken to their classrooms at 8.45am.

After School Club begins at 3.15pm and closes promptly at 6.00pm.

Kool Kidz provides children with a safe, relaxed and friendly environment with opportunities for arts and crafts, board games, construction, physical play, cookery, reading and other activities.

Places should be booked and paid for in advance through Arbor or through an accepted childcare voucher scheme.
