Phonics for Parents/Carers

At Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation, we use the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised phonics scheme to teach early reading and writing.

We provide a range of resources to help you support your child at home, ensuring a consistent approach between school and home learning.

What You Will Find

On this page, you will find helpful materials to support your child with:

  • Saying and recognising their phonics sounds
  • Forming and writing their letters correctly
  • Developing early reading skills

We have also included a selection of useful videos, which demonstrate how phonics is taught using the Little Wandle programme. These will help you understand the correct pronunciation of sounds and the methods we use in school, so you can confidently support your child at home.

How This Helps Your Child

Using these resources at home will help your child to:

  • Build confidence in reading and writing
  • Practise and reinforce skills taught through Little Wandle lessons
  • Develop accuracy in sound recognition and letter formation
  • Make strong progress in their early literacy development
