Assemblies

School assemblies are an important part of daily life at Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation, supporting and enriching the learning that takes place in the classroom. They provide a shared space where children come together to reflect, learn, and celebrate as a community.

Through assemblies, we actively promote our core school values and support children’s social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development. This includes opportunities for collective worship, discussions around positive behaviour and attitudes, and learning about key themes such as kindness, respect, responsibility, and resilience.

Assemblies also play a vital role in helping children develop a sense of belonging and understanding of the wider world. We celebrate a range of religious and cultural events, ensuring that all children feel represented and valued, while also learning about the beliefs and traditions of others.

In addition, assemblies are a time to celebrate achievements, both in and out of school, helping to build confidence and a strong sense of pride in the school community. They provide children with opportunities to share successes, showcase talents, and recognise the accomplishments of their peers.

Below, you will find an overview of our assembly themes. These are carefully planned to reflect our school values and to support children in growing into thoughtful, respectful, and active members of both the school and the wider community.
