Remote Education Provision

Remote education is the learning provided by the school when pupils are unable to attend in person.

This means your child will continue their education at home using a combination of online resources, teacher-led activities, and independent work. Remote education is designed to ensure that learning continues as closely as possible to what would be taught in school.

At Bonneygrove Primary School and Millbrook Primary School, remote education may include:

  • Lessons delivered through Google Classroom
  • Recorded or live teaching from teachers
  • Set activities and assignments to complete at home
  • Feedback from teachers to support progress

Remote education will be used when necessary, for example during illness, school closures, or emergency situations such as severe weather or a lockdown.

Our aim is to provide a structured and supportive learning experience so that all pupils can continue to make progress, even when they are not in school.

At Bonneygrove Primary School and Millbrook Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils continue to receive a high-quality education when learning remotely.

This information is provided in line with Department for Education (DfE) expectations and outlines what parents and carers can expect from remote education provision.

When Remote Education Will Be Used

Remote education will be provided if:

  • A pupil is required to remain at home
  • A class or group is unable to attend school
  • The school is required to close due to an emergency

This may include public health incidents, severe weather, site issues, or a local or national lockdown.

The schools will instigate remote education promptly when required to ensure continuity of learning.

1. The Remote Curriculum: What is taught

Remote learning will follow the same broad curriculum as pupils receive in school wherever possible.

Pupils will access remote learning primarily through Google Classroom.

Additional platforms may include:
