Welcome to the final newsletter for 2023. It has been a busy year, filled with lots of amazing learning experiences for the children.
This week, Year Five enjoyed a day of Italian dance, food and music, to bring together their Geography module on Italy. At lunchtimes the children have taken part in a daily mile using the new running track painted in the summer. Mr. Cook overseas all of the physical activity as PE lead. All pupils have loved our Victorian Christmas and have been full of fun facts in celebration assemblies, and created lots of purposeful non-fiction writing to show off their new-found knowledge!
The PTA ran a very successful Christmas Fair, thank you to everyone who attended and made this a success. This helped us to start feeling festive and raised money for the school which we are very grateful for.
Have a happy and safe winter break and we look forward to seeing the children back on Monday 8th January 2024!

In every newsletter we will introduce a new teacher for the parents and carers to get to know a little better.
Hi I’m Miss McDermott, I have worked in Bonneygrove for 4 years, first teaching in Year One and now in Reception. I am reception lead and Modern Foreign Languages subject lead.
I started teaching 15 years ago in key stage two. After 6 years of teaching, I moved to reception and felt at home! I strive to create a love of learning for every child, and it is wonderful to know I’m part of their journey. Watching a child move from mark making to writing stories, or from not speaking a word on their first day to performing in a nativity is why I love my job!
At home, I have two boys, a cat and sometimes the class tortoise! I love exploring and set a challenge every summer holiday to book in as many activities and trips as possible! I think it’s important to spend time making as many new and exciting memories as you can.
