Message from the Head of School!

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we embark on this new year, I hope you've all had a restful and joyous Christmas break. Despite the chilly start, there's an element of excitement in the air at Bonneygrove as we dive into a term brimming with opportunity and adventure.

We are looking forward to the upcoming multicultural Lunar New Year festival, organised by Miss Kingham.  This vibrant celebration promises a tapestry of exciting activities, all designed to immerse our pupils in the rich traditions of this cultural event. To ensure your child's participation, please remember to log on and make the workshop payment. It's an experience they won't want to miss!

Our Year Six pupils are counting down the days to their much-anticipated evacuee night. This immersive historical experience will transport them back in time, offering a unique perspective on an important chapter of our past. It's moments like these that truly bring learning to life.

The corridors of Bonneygrove recently echoed with the sounds of our Rocksteady music concert. It was a delight to see some of  you enjoying the performances. The musical journey continues as we look forward to hearing our budding musicians practice every Friday afternoon. These sessions fill our school with music and remind us of the creativity promoted as our school value.

As we navigate this new term, I urge all parents to peruse the curriculum newsletters for each Year Group. These invaluable resources offer a window into your child's learning journey, detailing the exciting topics and skills they'll be exploring.

Exciting times lie ahead for every class, with workshops and trips on the horizon. These experiences enrich our curriculum, bringing textbook knowledge to life and creating lasting memories. Keep an eye out for further details – you won't want your child to miss out on these fantastic opportunities.

Here's to a year of discovery, growth, and success at Bonneygrove Primary School!

Meet the Teacher Spring One 2025

In every newsletter we will introduce a new teacher for the parents and carers to get to know a little better.

Miss Peffers

{item_alt_tag}

Hello, my name is Miss Peffers. I have been teaching at Bonneygrove since June 2023. I originally started as a PPA teacher and was lucky enough to cover Mrs Arnett for her maternity and now I have had the pleasure of taking that class into Year Four, Lewis.

I graduated as a Primary School teacher in 2008 and I have been lucky enough to have experienced EYFS, as well as KS1 and KS2. I have taught in Stevenage, Waltham Cross, Hertford and my home town Cheshunt.

Before starting my own family, I was Key stage One Leader and I absolutely loved supporting my team and school. I have also been privileged to have supported many trainee teachers, all of which are still in touch with me and are still teaching. It makes me so proud to hear of their achievements.

Throughout my many years of teaching, I have led many different subjects. I have led PE, Science, Geography, History, Music, and I am currently leading DT in our federation.

I gained my passion for teaching when I was sixteen years old through supporting my swimming club with swimming lessons. I gained my Swimming Teacher qualification when I was eighteen, and I have taught at many swimming clubs across Cheshunt and Enfield. However, swimming isn’t the only sport I enjoy. I have always loved rugby. If it wasn’t for my rugby coach when I was in the Under 9’s, my hip problem wouldn’t have been sorted as quickly as it was. He spotted I had similarities to his son and recommended that I saw the same doctor. Twenty plus operations later and here I am.

I love spending time with my family. Going to our caravan, having family holidays and cheering on my daughter, who also has a love of swimming and rugby. However, she is a lot sportier than me as she also love football and rock climbing.
